About Austwinds
Austwinds; the company was established in 1992, located in Melbourne, and is owned by Bruce Cameron and Fred van Wijk.
Our products are sourced throughout the whole of Australia and New Zealand thus maintaining a wide variety of seasonal fresh flowers. We work closely with our farms, around sixty of them in Australia, and forty in New Zealand.
New Zealand Cymbidiums, Hydrangeas, Heather, Peonies and Callas are sourced directly from New Zealand farms and are the perfect compliment to Australian Wild flowers and Greens. The variety of Wild flowers from Australia is immense, Banksia, Thryptomene, Protea's and Wax flowers to name a few.
Austwinds commitment is too supply our buyers with the best Australian and New Zealand products and service, while supporting our farms with knowledge and information to further develop products for a stronger future.
Flowers are picked, graded and packed by our growers, adhering to our strict post-harvest and quality specifications. Upon delivery to our temperature controlled cool store facility, the quality is re-checked by our own sales staff prior to delivery to ensure our astute customers consistently receive premium quality product.
Our Australian facilities are about 3 minutes from Melbourne Airport, with good coolrooms, pressure-cooling and packing areas. Our main export markets are the USA, Canada, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and through our daughter company Cosmoflor we supply the European markets. Apart from the normal range of Australian and New Zealand flora products, we carry many unusual Greens, a full list of the new specialty waxes, and other interesting items such as Brunia's and Berzelia's.
